James J. Hoverman
James J. Hoverman is responsible for
directing marketing efforts and marketing consulting
projects for key clients. Hoverman led the task force
responsible for developing a Blue Chip Business Development
ProcessŪ, which focuses a company's marketing and sales
resources on senior management at its largest targets
of opportunity. Among the more than 80 major companies
he has worked with in a consultative capacity are American
Express, General Electric, Computer Sciences Corporation,
Deloitte & Touche LLP, , Fidelity Investments, Gannett
Company, Johnson & Johnson, Westvaco and CIGNA Retirement
and Investment Services. He has helped these corporations
focus on both external customer audiences and the members
of internal sales organizations. Prior to his current
focus, Hoverman held various management positions within
the publishing industry. His last position was Vice
President of Penton Publishing. As publisher of Progressive
Architecture magazine, he initiated the International
Furniture Design Competition, a program designed to
recognize emerging architectural talent. During his
tenure, the magazine received the National Magazine
Award and the Jesse H. Neal Award. In addition, the
publication increased advertising volume by over 100
percent and grew to the number one position in its market.
Hoverman received a B.A. in Economics from Loras College,
Dubuque IA. He has lectured widely to audiences that
include the Wharton School and The Advertising Club
of New York. He has also been featured on ESPN's Nation's
Business Today and FNN's Business Tonight.
